The Association is directed by a Steering Committee of seven people named for an unspecified
duration. The members of the Steering Committee will be replaced only if one of them becomes
President of an associations which is member of the Federation or of the Federation itself,
resigns, dies or for other serious reasons such as a lawsuit by the legal authorities,
or a complaint deposited by registered letter to the Steering Committee, as specified in the
article No.11 of the statutes. The substitute will be appointed after a vote of the members of the
Steering Committee, with the exception of the blamed, deceased of resinging person, by co-optation,
on the proposals of the members of the Steering Committee.
The Steering Committee appoints a Rapporteur among the members of the Steering Committe who is
its representative. The Rapporteur of the Steering Committee is elected for one period of
four months, after that another member of the Steering Committee becomes the Rapporteur following
a schedule established by convention between the members of the Steerinf Committee.
The President, elected by the members, directs the Office, and will name an 8th member
of the Steering Committee.
The Board of directors is the whole of the Steering Committee and the whole of the Bureau.
The members will also name one 9th member of the Steering Committee. The person or the people
who wish to become the 9th member will have to communcate his (her, their) candidature in
written form to the Bureau, at least 30 days before the General Assembly, during
which the election of this 9th member by the present members will take place.
The 8th and the 9th member of the Steering Committee are not named for an unspecified duration.
They are renewed, or confirmed, at each General Assembly. Their voices will be taken into account
only in the case of litigation between the Bureau and the Steering Committee, when the situation
requires a settlement by a vote after deliberations of the Committee. In the event even
votes, the voices of the members of the Steering Committee would be dominating.
The Steering Committee will take care of the correct operation of the Federation and
in particular that the Federation remains independent of any other ufological association.
