"Hello,
I just by chance stumbled on your article regarding accounts of UFO seen at Lakenheath in the
late 1950's. I was a control tower operator at Sculthorpe RAFB between 1951 and 1954. I recall
an event that happened during that time, probably 1953 in the fall. I was the tower chief on
duty, it was early evening and suddenly all of our radio frequencies began to be cycled on
and off simultaneously. I called to our GCA unit to see if they were causing the action and
they reported that they were not. I then call the neighboring RAF station and they were having
the same occurrence. I called Lakenheath and they also were experiencing the same thing. Our
GCA unit was on standby as we had no traffic in the air. We had a visual sighting of a
stationary bright light in the West which was visible for several minutes. I reported the
action in the daily log as an unexplainable event and nothing more was ever said about it
as far as I know. I find it very interesting to read about a similar occurrence which
occurred in the same area several years later. I was an Airman First Class at the time
- just another non-commissioned control tower operator."
